3 Extreme Sports HD Camcorders for 2010

Camcorder reviews usually focus on HD camcorders for every day use, but with the summer almost upon us, I thought the outdoor activities and extreme sports enthusiasts would appreciate some attention.

The extreme sports guys using a head cam, dash cam or helmet cam to record the action in high definition have 3 great options, the Oregon Scientific ATC 3K, GoPro Helmetcam and the VholdR ContourHD action cam.

Oregon Scientific ATC 3K
This Waterproof helmet cam for extreme sports has a 48 degree wide angle, 32 Mb of internal memory which can be expanded to 4GB with an SD/HC card, and a 3 button operation for easy use as a head cam or dash cam.

Mounting straps for use as a helmet camera or dash cam in all outdoor activities and extreme sports is included, as well as a stand for use as a webcam.  

GoPro Helmetcam
This helmet cam is claimed to be the worlds highest performance on-board Professional-grade HD video and stills head cam for extreme sports outdoor activities, recording at 60 frames a second.

With a quick-release mounting design, a rechargeable lithium-ion battery unit lasting up to 2.5 hours on a single charge, and capacity to take a 32GB card.

Shoot stills too with this helmet camera or dash cam automatically at 5 MP resolution with selectable intervals.

VholdR ContourHD action cam
This action cam for outdoor activities and extreme sports records in full 1081p high definition at 30fps or 60 fps on microSD memory cards.
A 2GB card is included, with the option of adding up to 16GB of extra flash memory for up to 8 hours of recording time.

The ContourHD head cam or dash cam lens is fixed focus, a built-in mike records the sounds, and an easy one touch switch starts or stops the recording.
